June 7, 2012 Pekin, IL Rick and Jude
We had a really long ride today from Corbin, KY to Pekin, IL, but it was worth it to spend the evening with our dear friends, Rick and Jude. We dry camped at the airport where they keep their planes and had a cookout outside the hanger--chicken and grilled veggies. It was great catching up with our friends and watching a spectacular sunset over the pumpkin fields that surround the airport. The dogs really enjoyed the freedom from leashes and being able to run around a bit.
