Meziadin Provincial Park

We traveled south on Rt. 37  out of the Yukon and on to the tiny town of Meziadin, British Columbia.  On the way we saw a moose, a fox, and some mountain goats.  We stopped at Jade City, which is really a store which sells the jade that is mined in the area.      In fact, 92% of the world's jade comes from these Cassiar Mountains.   The displays of polished and raw jade were very interesting, and the jewelry was beautiful.

We actually drove further than we had planned because we learned that the Taft River Bridge , about 30 miles north of our turn off, was to be closed the next day at 10 a.m. for 24 hours!  We made it past the bridge and found the beautiful Meziadin Provincial Park.  It had no hook-ups, but the view over the lake  was so spectacular that we hardly noticed.  Corky got to go swimming in the lake, and the walk around the campground was wonderful.  We spent a pleasant evening there.

Happy hour outside...wonderful
The view from our campsite.

We saw this happy dog on our walk.
