Billings MT

June 9, 2012       Billings, MT

We left Spearfish this morning for a fairly easy and very pretty drive to Billings, MT.   We are staying at the world's FIRST KOA, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.  It is a pretty campsite along the Yellowstone River with cottonwood trees shedding puffs of cotton everywhere.  After getting settled in and giving the dogs some exercise, we joined our travel-mates, Barb and Gary, who are staying at the local Elk's Lodge in their beautiful Holiday Rambler Ambassador. We enjoyed dinner and drinks at the Elk's Club and caught up on each other's news.

After dinner, we drove up to the Rimrock Road on a ridge above the town for some short hikes and spectacular views of Billings and the surrounding area.  We spent some time discussing the travel for the next couple of days before heading back to our campsite where we turned on the heat since it was 60 degrees outside.

It is just too bad that we won't be here for the activities at the Elk's Club tomorrow  (see sign picture below.)

Gary & Barb's home.

I'm speechless!  Really!

The hills are alive......

Rattlesnakes?   Really?

Beautiful Billings MT

Our traveling companions...ready to roll!
