To Anchorage

July 17, 2012  To Anchorage

Oh happy day!   More sunshine and 68 degrees!   This afternoon I wore shorts for the first time in weeks!

Before we left Ninilchik this morning, a group of sand hill cranes trooped through the campground and Steve was able to get a few pictures of them.   We left about 9:30 for the incredibly beautiful drive up the Kenai Peninsula to Anchorage.  The weather was warm and clear and beautiful!

We arrived at Fort Richardson in Anchorage and were happy to find that this very nice campground had space for us.   The sites are spacious and wooded with full hook-ups, and come complete with a warning that bears have visited for the past few days.  After getting set up, we headed out to shop at the excellent commissary and BX.  Returning to the RV, we enjoyed happy hour outdoors before dinner, then retired for the evening.
