Denali at last

July 10, 2012    Denali at last!

So we have been having a problem with our steps not going in and out properly,  and Steve finally found the parts he needed to fix them in Anchorage so we stopped and bought them on the way out of town.  The drive from Anchorage to Seward is really beautiful.  You travel along the Turnagain Arm and the Cook Inlet.  To our amazement, looking our over the Inlet, we saw Denali (Mt. McKinley) shining on the horizon!   It was a glorious sight!  They say that only 25% of visitors to Alaska get to see it, so we were thrilled even though we are so far away.

The rest of the trip was one beautiful view after another.   Snow capped mountains, lush green forests, pristine lakes, glacial rivers, and quaint little villages made the drive a joy. We arrived at Stoney Creek RV Park in Seward in the afternoon and settled in.  Steve and Gary went to work on fixing the steps, and in a short time we had steps working as they should.
